SAFARI

Nepal is one of the richest countries in the world in term of bio-diversity due to its unique geographical position and altitudinal variation. The elevation of the country ranges from 60 m at sea level to the highest point on earth, Mt. Everest at 8,848 m, all within a distance of 150 km resulting into climate condition from sub-tropical to Arctic.
Nepal-occupying only 0.1% of the earth - is home to:
-
2% of all flowering plants in the world; - 8% of the world's population of birds (more then 848 species);
- 4% of mammals on earth;
- 11 of the world's 15 families of butterfly (more than 500 species);
- 600 indigenous plant families;
- 319 species of exotic orchids.
A Rich Natural Heritage:
Thanks to Nepal's extensive and effective Parks and Reserve system, the country has managed to preserve more endangered species of flora and fauna then any other area in Asia. Nepal has nine National Parks, three Wildlife Reserves, three Conservation Areas and one Hunting Reserve, which include areas in the highest mountain in the world as well as sub-tropical lowland of the plains.
One of the major tourist attractions in Nepal is Jungle Safari:
Jungle activities here include venture into deep jungle on elephant back or four wheel drive to view wild animals in their natural habitat, canoe rides or rafting on the jungle rivers, nature walks, camping trip, bird watching, dolphin sightseeing, fishing, tiger tracking or wild elephant tracking, and village tour excursions etc.
Experiencing wildlife safari while in Nepal has been like a traveler's delight. The extreme geographical diversity of Nepal provides a wealth of flora and fauna unlike anywhere else in the world. Traveling south to the Royal Chitwan National Park, the wildlife in this beautiful natural preserve is abundant. One horned rhinoceros, gaur ( wild oxen) , gharial and marsh mugger crocodiles, sloth bear, langur, chital and majestic bengal tiger are what one would be able to view during their visit to this pristine land. Exploring further through the villages and the farmlands of our terai region, you would come across yet more magnificent Royal National Bardia Park situated at the heart of west Nepal's remote but undisturbed wilderness. The uproaring Karnali River flowing through the middle of this park, and the riverine forests and grasslands fed by its water are home to 32 species of mammal and some 250 bird species. Bardia is undoubtedly a majestic and unspoiled land of wildlife which provides for a high possibility of big game wildlife viewing, including Royal Bengal Tiger, Wild Elephant and rare Gangetic Dolphin
The Royal Chitwan National Park

which stand today as successful testimony of nature conservation in South Asia. This is the first National Park of Nepal established in 1973 to preserve a unique eco system significantly valuable to the whole world. The Park covering the protected area of 932 Sq. Km. is situated in the subtropical inner Terai lowlands of southern central part of Nepal. The Park gained much wider recognition in the world when UNESCO included this area on the list of World Heritage Site in 1984. It should also be emphasized that only a very small part of the national park is used for tourism.
The great majority of the land, particularly in the hills, remains unvisited and therefore undisturbed. This is ideal for wildlife, and also preserves an element of mystery for humans; because large areas are still unexplored, our knowledge of what birds and animals the park contains is by no means finalized, and there is always the possibility of making new discoveries
