Ultimate Descents Nepal (UDN) is the sole rafting company in Nepal whose guides are all certified in Wilderness First Aid, AR, CPR and SRT- 1. The Swiftwater Rescue Technique (SRT) license is a certification of basic rescue techniques that is compulsory in all whitewater professions worldwide.

For the first time, Nepal has its own SRT instructor, Mr. Chandra Ale, who is also the Operation Director at Ultimate Descents Nepal. Mr. Ale received his SRT Instructor Certification from Rescue 3 International in August 2001 in the U.S. He has also provided 3-day intensive certification seminars during Spring 2002 to all of the UDN river staffs, other rafting companies and Nepalese freelance guides. Ultimate Descents Nepal also arranged additional training seminars with Mr. Ale during Fall 2002 and Spring 2003. Instructions were given in Nepali and English, depending on the student's requirements.
