Tentative Itinerary
There is normally a pre-departure meeting at our sales office in Kathmandu the day before the
expedition start.at the meeting you have a chance to meet the instructors and support group and we can
answer any final queries. We will give out personal gear bags and also go through the logistics of luggage
storage and delivery to the takeout point if you are not returning to Kathmandu.
Detail Itinerary
Day1:
On the first day we take flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj (55Mins) give us glimpse of snowcapped
peaks of Annapurna range, drive to ChepangGhat (Starting point) 45Mins. Once we get to the entrance
of the Bardiya National park, short out the permit, then, we inflate the raft and tie the equipment’s, gear
up and Our river guides will start the safety briefing, The rafting with fishing starts off fairly relaxed, with
class II and small class to warm up and keep your eyes open to see the scenic views and wild life. As
golden Mahseer is active in night, we can set our fishing rod and enjoy fishing in evening as set the camp
on the river beach inside the national park which experience the wilderness life for sure.
Day2:
In the morning, everyone packs their gears and come to Breakfast to begin the excursion. Before
starting, there is another paddling session to refresh everyone’s memory. We will have 5/6Hrs on the
river. While rafting we continued fishing and take an excellent opportunity to watch and snap shoots
passing by different species of rare wildlife such as wild elephants, sambar/hog deer, bears, wild dog,
rhinoceros, crocodile, Bengal tigers and birds etc. For more, our experienced nature guide and river
guide will help you to track wildlife. The day will give you a sense of inner peace where you will see
numerous birds, fishes and deer grazing on the edge. Upon arriving in Camp 2 we set our fishing rod and
catch Golden Maser, and release back to river. O/N
Day3:
From our last camp Ghopte Aanp, we drift down another 4Hrs to impressive Babai Bridge (Mahendra
Highway). After a days, without any vehicles, car horns or screaming children, the highway serves to
remind us of just how quiet the time we had inside the wild Bardiya national Park. Most people want to
crawl back up the same journey at this point. At the takeout the rafts are carried up and loaded on the
bus and river lunch. From here, Nepalgunj is just a few hrs. drive. If time allows, you could stop another
couple of days in Bardiya and enjoy, jeep safari, cultural show and food with local indigenous flavor and
taste.
