Overview
Trishuli is Nepal’s most popular rafting river. With easy access from both Kathmandu and Pokhara, scenic valleys, impressive gorges, exhilarating rapids as well as easier sections, it’s clear why this is the perfect trip for first-time and experienced rafters alike.
Unfortunately, the river’s popularity means it is crowded and the beaches are disturbed during the normal rafting season. However, there is some good news as well. During the monsoon months, the Trishuli changes character completely as huge runoffs makes the river swell and shear like an immense ribbon of churning ocean. When the river is running high and wild, there are hardly any rafters around. Rafting on the Trishuli during monsoon is without a doubt the most exciting thing you can do in Nepal, and quite possibly one of the best two days of whitewater rafting trips offered anywhere in the world.
